Our chickens are all cared for with love to provide the healthiest meat for our customers. These birds will be raised by our children & shown during the Adair County Fair. Processing & pick up or delivery will be available following the fair.

We have a spoiled flock of mixed breeds. We are getting eggs from spoiled hens. They are mixed colors including the following: brown, blush, blue-green, and white.

We have a mixed flock of ducks. The ducks are very calm and lay nice jumbo eggs. Many people who are allergic to chicken eggs can handle duck eggs in their place. Check with your doctor if this might help you! Duck eggs are a favorite of bakers as well for fluffier products!
Occasionally we have goose eggs available. $3 for one egg, or 2 for $5; they could be incubated or eaten at this point. They make great omelets! Breeds are Toulouse.

Traditional Trail Mix: mixed nuts, raisins, M&M's. This can be adjusted at request as well, craisins, sunflower seeds can be added and anything can be left out. During fall candy corn is a popular addition. Cost varies.

2026 Garden Update
As of June 25th, 2026 - the garden is quite a mess. Between lots of rain & swinging temperatures the produce is just not progressing as normal. The broccoli is just starting to make heads, the repeated planting of green beans is starting to sprout. The onions look good! Peppers and tomatoes are starting to bloom. We are hopeful that the cucumbers will take off soon, but so far it is all pretty slow going.
Peas, Radishes, Green Beans, Cucumbers, Peppers (sweet AND spicy), Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Squash, Pumpkins and Gourds!
The garden is split into tracts that are pretty well tended by the child who will exhibit that in the on-site garden at the fair, and then they will enter produce in the 4-H Horticulture Show at the Iowa State Fair.
Firewood
Presplit & seasoned firewood is available. We offer camping bundles up to truck bed loads. Please contact us for information - delivery & stacking is available as well. Prices vary from $10 up to $100 for a level 6' truck bed. Wood is mostly walnut with some ash thrown in.

Sheep
We raise sheep that the kids show through 4-H; if you would like to buy a half or whole lamb, they will be available early fall. We are happy to make appointment at the locker for you along with transportation to the locker. You are responsible for arranging the cuts of meat you would like, paying the locker directly, and picking up the meat.

A change from the last couple years is that we are only planning to do one set of broilers. The kids will have their set that will be ready the 2nd Friday of July. These are birds that will be exhibited during the Adair County Fair. We sellout of these quickly, so let us know as soon as you want to be put on our list. The costs are expected to be $4 per pound with a goal of 5-6# whole roasting chicken.
