Movie Night

Oh friends! We had a great night last night! We are SO blessed as a small town to still have a movie theater...but not only to have one but to have one that still shows new release movies! For Christmas Aunt Carly, Uncle David & the boys got the little people "Movie Money" and a fun tub of popcorn and snacks! The popcorn & snacks didn't last long...but the little people have checked the movie theater board pretty much weekly since Christmas waiting for a movie they all wanted to see that was playing on a weekend that wasn't packed full of activities! I know there was a movie earlier in the year that they wanted to see, but something came up...so I've held the money in a safe place for them!

Onward...daddy wanted to see it...the little people wanted to see it...AND it was playing at The Grand Theatre on the square in Greenfield!!! The stars finally aligned to spend their movie money! Happy day to all!!!

Fast forward to the surprise...Deb Lundy runs the theater (as far as I know) and 100% honesty - we haven't been to a movie since I tried to take all 5 to a free movie Monday that they used to have by myself - so sometime last summer...probably June or early July...She has all kinds of new stuff going on! *edit* I did go with grandma in December maybe with these littles and the nephews! I don't remember how well it went, but I know it wasn't as good as last night!

#1: They take debit/credit cards now! AND I know I'm not the only one who never has cash!

#2: There are cups & tins for sale that they refill at other movies for a discount! Plus - they have Mulan tins that they're going to fill for free when they show the new Mulan movie coming out!!!

#3: They have reward cards!!! Spend $200 on concessions and receive $20 FREE concessions! It may seem like a lot - but with our crew...not really that much...and for anyone who frequently attends you could totally spend $200 throughout the year & have free concessions in December so you have that cash available for holiday shopping!

#4: They have a Frequent Movie Goers Club! Receive 12 punches & earn a FREE movie! Hello....I got 7 punches last night alone! But seriously...again...keep up to date on all the latest movie releases and save money!

#5: They have headsets and readers to help customers who have trouble hearing a movie. You just need to ask to use the readers or the headsets. There is no additional cost!

The theater is still for sale as far as I know, so if you're looking for something fun that generates some income hit them up for info!

You could drive to Des Moines, pay $$ to get a ticket, pay $$$ for snacks and gas, and spend all that time driving...OR you can support our local economy...pay $ for a seat, pay $ for snacks, maybe even spend $0 on gas depending on how close to the square you live! You get a fabulous experience too! I promise you won't regret it!

A fun time was had by all (the non-smiling one was because I finished the little bit of candy she was planning to eat at home I guess! They're showing it again at 2 PM today...the wind is still set for 60 MPH gusts...good day to hit them up!
