Hello all!!! We crammed SO much into this past weekend! 48 hours of fun and travel :)

We started off the weekend hitting up some White Pole Road garage sales. The White Pole Road is the touristy version of Old Highway 6. A fun historical tidbit - hopefully not dating myself - I remember when (I think it was Trevor Nelson's) the poles were painted white for an Eagle Scout project. I don't remember all the details, but I remember a lot of people worked together to make this project happen. We hopped on in Anita and moved through Adair, then we hit up lunch at the Chuckwagon restaurant in Adair.

Adair is possibly the best well known for the bright yellow smiley faced water tower on Interstate 80, but there are many facets to the town. The Chuckwagon is locally owned and the owner is also very crafty! From my understanding pretty much all the decor is priced to sell as well. There are SO many cute things in there I could likely spend lots and lots of money there! Plus the food is always great! We have eaten there a few times and I'm always thankful for the fabulous service we have received. Everyone is polite and the food was served up quick and hot. The restaurant was a nice cool break for us when we were out and about hitting garage sales. Everyone grabbed a bite and we were ready for a nap!

B was off work at noon, so we decided since we didn't find the essentials we were hoping at the garage sales to head for Des Moines to pay retail...

Following our retail shopping we headed home with a picnic. Since the little people had spent a lot of time in the car we stopped at what we like to call "The Barn Park" in Dexter! Dad & B walked the path and tried out the exercise machines, while I chilled with the little people. Following the park we headed for Stuart.

We hit Scoop The Loop! Oh My-Lanta! It was fabulous!!! I bet we walked at least 10 blocks of beautiful cars! Old cars, new cars, totally refinished cars, and works in progress. We had so much fun! There was a pink car that caught the eye of a couple littles; and some "monster" aka jacked up trucks that caught the eye of little boys in our crew. Daddy saw some impalas that match a dream of his - and we got some ideas for his new "toy" that we hope to refinish little by little over the next few years. We also found "Bumblebee" from the Transformers movies! And a special treat was to run into friends!

This car belonged to James Wolfe - his daughter is in the black shirt!

The scoop the loop was so much fun! Based on their Facebook page the next event is slated for July 20! If you aren't going to the Adair County Fair that night stopping in would be so much fun! If you like your classics like we do these books might be of interest to you!

Friends this weekend wrapped up with some family fun celebrating the niece & nephew's high school & college graduations respectively. We are so excited for all the fun we will have this summer!
