Winter Wonderland or Polar Vortex?!?!

Good afternoon all!

I am expanding my talents today - I hope! I am really hoping that our page will be a popular place for people to connect with us about the farm. Today is a high of -6 degrees! So obviously I am trying to work from inside. My pretty ladies are all bundled in warm in the coop this fine afternoon. They got kitchen treats today - leftover broccoli, apple cores, and bread crusts. I am getting ready to start a new pan of lentils for them too - I let them sprout and then after about a week take them out for them to much on! This all provides additional energy they need during this cold.

When one looks out the window a winter wonderland is seen, but heading out - brrrr!

I hope you will check back regularly! I'll be sharing recipes, tips about kids, maybe some parenting (or fails!) along with fun things we do to save time and/or money around here! I'm sure the kids will be happy to know that I've started this venture (using them as guinea pigs!)
